Nancy J. NalepinksiNancy J. Nalepinski, age71, passed away on July 27, 2011 after a long illness. She was born in Prairie du Chien, WI on February 20, 1940 to Bernie & Janis (Jamison) Willkomm. After graduation from Cassville High School in 1958, she attended UW-Platteville where she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in education in 1962. It is there that she met and fell in love with her future husband, Jim. She began her teaching career in Monroe where she taught English and Spanish. She later became a stay-at-home mom to her three children. When the youngest child started school, she returned to teaching at the Lancaster Pre-School based at the United Methodist Church and then became its director, where she stayed for fourteen years. After her “retirement,” she returned to UW-Platteville and earned her Masters degree in counseling in 1996. She worked as a guidance counselor for the Catholic School System in Dubuque, Iowa and then worked for the Bureau for the Blind. She also spent some time working the phones at Lands’ End. Her favorite pastimes included knitting, theatre, her Red Hatters Group, the Cubs, prayer group, and most of all, spending time with her friends and family, especially her grandchildren (Sonya, Claire, Grayson, Danna, Drew, Nicholas, Gabriella and Parker). She was a long time member of both the Lancaster United Methodist Church and the Lancaster Community Players. In her time here, she touched many, many lives. She never met a person she didn’t like. She will be greatly missed. Nancy is survived by her husband Jim, three children, Andy (Tara), Julie (Dave) Lenzendorf, Wendy (Scott) Klicko, 8 grandchildren and five brothers, Bruce (Carole), Wayne, David, Jeff (J.P.) and Shawn. She was preceded in death by her parents. Funeral Services were held on Sunday, July 31, 2011, at 2:00 p.m. at United Methodist Church in Lancaster with Pastor Barbara Cook officiating. Private family burial will be held at a later date. Family and friends called on Saturday, July 30, 2011, from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Schwartz Funeral Home in Lancaster and on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until time of services at the church. Adam was preceded in death by a son, Dylan James; grandparents, Ronald Nemitz, Delano Reynolds, Don and Flourence Curtis and life long friend, DJ Heiligenthal. Funeral services were held on Anna M. NixAnna M. Nix, age 89, of Lancaster, died on Saturday, March 12, 2011, at her residence in Lancaster. She was born on June 25, 1921, in Potosi, the daughter of F. Edward and Mary Ann (Schneider) Hoffman. On April 5, 1941, she was united in marriage to Robert Lee Nix in Potosi. Anna worked at Kamm’s Locker Plant and many years at Lancaster Memorial Hospital. She enjoyed her family first and foremost, and filled many hours reading and watching birds and squirrels. Survivors include her children: Leon (Janet) Nix, Lancaster; Mary Ann (Robert) Ganfield, Cascade, IA; Loren (Connie) Nix, Terry (Nancy) Nix, all of Lancaster; Cinda (Mike) Furry, Platteville; eleven grandchildren: Eva (David) Sebesta, David (Amy Gotzinger) Nix, Barbara (Bronson) Cunningham, Betty (Jared) Tilleraas, Shane (Tara) Nix, Wyatt (Deb) Nix, Emily Nix, Jason (Michelle Lamore) Nix, Brandon (Emily) Nix, Amy (Kris) Kreul, Andy (Amy) Pennekamp; fourteen great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends. In addition to her parents, Anna was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee, on December 10, 1977, one brother, Samuel, two sisters, Josephine Rux and Luella Olson, and a son-in-law, Roger Pennekamp. Funeral services were held on Thursday, March 17, 2011, at 10:00 a.m. at the Lancaster United Methodist Church with Pastor Barbara Cook officiating. Burial was in Hillside Cemetery, Lancaster. Family and friends called on Wednesday, March 16, 2011, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Schwartz Funeral Home in Lancaster and on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until time of services at the church. Stanley M. NobleStanley M. Noble, age 81, of Lancaster passed away December 20, 2011 at the Lancaster Care Center to take up residency with the heavenly hosts. Stanley was born February 23, 1930 in Lancaster as one of ten boys and two girls to George and Gertrude (Dobson) Noble. He graduated from Lancaster High School in 1949. He married his high school sweetheart Elsie Landon on May 6, 1950. Stanley and Elsie were stewards of God’s earth through the occupation of farming. In 1967 they co-hosted the State Farm Progress Days with his brother Ralph Noble. Stanley later served other farmers by being a co-owner in establishing the former CFN Feeds. He found time to serve the community as a Lancaster School Board member for 12 years. Stanley and Elsie spent 16 years enjoying the winter months in Mesa, Arizona establishing many friendships and cherishing many fond memories. Stanley loved to compete whether on the athletic field, golf course, playing bean bag, or a friendly game of cards. His love of sports continued after high school refereeing varsity and junior varsity football and basketball games for 27 years. He put the whistle away for a greater love of watching his children and grandchildren participate. He instilled in them to play by the rules of fair competition and to do their best in all facets of life. Stanley was an active member of the Community of Christ Church and his life modeled the teachings of Christ. Surviving are his wife, Elsie, five children, Terry (Kris) Noble, Kristine (Douglas) Wolf, Robert (Diane) Noble, Kathy (Rodney) Vogelsberg, and Douglas (Amy) Noble; fourteen grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; a brother Ralph (Wilma) Noble and a sister Carol (Larry) Jeidy; five sister-in-laws, Betty Noble, Mary Noble, Marilyn Noble, Veda Govier, and June (Neil) Larson; many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents George and Gertrude Noble; his father and mother-in-law Ray and Neva Landon; eight brothers Al, Ivan, Bert, Willard, Kermit, Lloyd, Floyd, and Elgie; one sister Mildred Bendorf; and two brother-in-laws William Bendorf and Glenn Govier. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, December 23, 2011, at the Community of Christ Church in Lancaster. Burial was at the Hillside Cemetery in Lancaster. Friends called from3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Schwartz Funeral Home on Thursday, December 22, 2011, and from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service at the church on Friday. In lieu of flowers, a Stanley M. Noble memorial fund has been established. Judith M. NoelJudith M. Noel, age 61, of Lancaster, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, December 15, 2010. She was born on February 10, 1949, the daughter of Lavern and Dorothy (Buss) Noel in Dubuque, IA. Judy graduated from Cassville High School in 1966. She was employed as a Registered Nurse for many years at Orchard Manor Nursing Home in Lancaster, where she truly made a difference in the lives of the elderly and those with special needs. In her free time, she enjoyed reading, knitting, and crocheting. Judy loved being outdoors tending to her flower and vegetable gardens. Judy’s mothering skills went beyond her children. Through the years, Judy has raised and nurtured numerous cats, cherishing their constant companionship. Survivors include her four children: Adam (Mindy) Markus, Johnson Creek; Luke (Jill) Markus, Madison; Isaac Markus, Minocqua; and Anne (Mark) Nelson, St. Peter, MN; two brothers, Tom (Karen) Noel, DeSoto; John (Deb) Noel, Beetown; her sister, Brenda (Dennis) Watters, Lancaster; her granddaughter, Maggie Markus; brothers-in-law, Donnie Pennekamp, Lancaster; Dennis Caley, Cuba City; nieces, nephews, and many special friends. Judy was preceded in death by her parents, her step-father, Donald Oates, her son, Jeff, her sisters, Joyce Pennekamp and Suzanne Caley and her brother, Steven Noel. A Celebration of Judy’s life was held on Sunday, December 19, 2010, from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at the Youth and Agriculture Building in Lancaster. Private family burial will be at a later date. Robert A. Noll, age 78, of Cassville, died on Survivors include his wife, Karen of Cassville; his five children: Gretchen Noll, Fairfax, VA; Cheri Noll, Mazomanie; Kathy (Tony) Pozorski, Lancaster; Joy (Dennis) Blum, Cassville; Paula Noll, Port Washington; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; an aunt, and several cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services were held on Marian NorthouseMarian Northouse, age 88, of Lancaster, died on Saturday, April 24, 2010, at Grant Regional Health Center in Lancaster. She was born on February 9, 1922, in Manchester, England, the daughter of Robert and Alice (Watson) Atkins. On August 1, 1 945, Marian was united in marriage to Norman Northouse in Manchester, England, and was married for more than fifty-two years. She was an avid reader, loved going to the casinos and was a lifetime member of the American Legion and VFW Auxiliaries. She will be sadly missed by all of her family and friends. Survivors include her daughter, Barbara (Lee) Borah, Cape Girardeau, MO; her grandchildren: Brett (Deborah) McDonald, Racine; Angela McDonald, Beach Park, IL; Michael (Laura) Budd, Vancouver, WA; three great-grandchildren: Jessica and Kristofer McDonald and Emily Budd. In addition to her parents, Marian was preceded in death by her husband, Norman, daughters, Judith A. Hawkins and Mary Lou Budd, and her son-in-law, Terry Budd. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, April 28, 2010, at 11:30 a.m. at St. Clement Catholic Church in Lancaster with Father William Seipp officiating. Burial was in Hillside Cemetery, Lancaster. Family and Friends may call on Wednesday, April 28, 2010, from 9:30 a.m. until time of services at the church. Schwartz Funeral Home in Lancaster assisted the family.
