Dorothy B. Martin

Dorothy B. Martin, age 84, of Lancaster, passed away on Friday, April 6, 2018, at Atrium Post Acute Care in Lancaster. She was born on August 31, 1933, the daughter of George and Anna (Shur) Hardy. On June 27, 1952, Dorothy was united in marriage to Clayton A. Martin at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Platteville. After their marriage the couple resided in Cassville for many years before relocating to Lancaster. Clayton and Dorothy loved to square dance together, camp, and go to garage sales. Dorothy also liked embroidering, quilting, and playing Bingo. She had an easy-going personality and enjoyed life.
Survivors include her daughter, Vicky (Mark) Schweitzer; two grandchildren: Jodi Schweitzer and Shane Schweitzer, all of Belmont; a sister-in-law, Gladys Hardy, Platteville; brother-in-law, Brenton Martin, Lancaster; other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Clayton on January 4, 2011; and her siblings: Marie, Harold, Gordon, Gladys, Don, Mildred and Melvin.
Funeral services will be on Saturday, April 14, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. at the Lancaster United Methodist Church in Lancaster with Pastor Mark Weaver officiating. Burial will be in Farview Cemetery, Liberty Township. Family and friends may call on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until time of services at the church. Martin Schwartz Funeral Home & Crematory in Lancaster is entrusted with her care.
