Constance J. Fritz

Constance "Connie" J. Fritz, age 78, of Lancaster, died Monday, August 19, 2019, at Mercy Hospital in Dubuque, IA, after a courageous battle with end stage renal failure. She was born March 16, 1941, in Waterloo Township, Grant County Wisconsin, the daughter of John and Mabel (Sedbrook) Flesch. On November 7, 1959, she married Eldon R. Fritz at St Thomas Catholic Church in Potosi, WI. After raising five children, Connie went to work at Loudspeaker Component Company for more than 30 years. She enjoyed spending time with her family and was always interested in her grandchildren's activities. During Mom and Dad's 40-year marriage, they enjoyed motorcycle rides on their Goldwing, camping at Merrillan, WI, and NASCAR racing following Dale Earnhardt, and playing Solitaire. In her last years, Connie enjoyed her time at Sienna Crest with the residents and staff.
She is survived by five children: Rhonda (Mitch) Gilbert of Madison, AL; Rene (Bob) Krogman of Lancaster; Robin (Alvin) Bontreger of Beetown; Roger Fritz of Bloomington; and Ryan (Julie) Fritz of Sun Prairie; 12 grandchildren: Weston and Bradley Gilbert, Roshae (Matt) Moore, Danielle (Jeremy) Seippel, Cole (Heather) Fenner, Ashley Kuhn, Amber (Daniel) Fernberg, Abby Bontreger, Kirsten (Mundo) Cadena and Katelyn Fritz, and Jace and Caden Fritz; nine great-grandchildren: Morgan Seippel, and Hunter, Allison, Jenna, and Brady Moore, Bryce Kuhn and Brenden Blindert, Jaxon and Martha Fernberg; two sisters-in-law: Wilma Fritz Russell of Potosi and Lenice Koeller Flesch of Dubuque, IA; many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Connie was preceded in death by her husband Eldie; her brothers: Donald and Johnny Flesch; and her sisters: Doris Flesch Nachtman and JoAnn Flesch Kirschbaum.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 24, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Martin Schwartz Funeral Home & Crematory, 1234 S Madison St., Lancaster with Bill Manthe officiating. Burial will be in St. Clement Cemetery, Lancaster. Family and friends may call on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home.
