Dorothy Rose (Schlabach) Bontrager, age 88 years, 9 months, 28 days, of 8514 Slabtown Rd., Lancaster, WI, 53813, died Saturday, October 13, 2018, at her home. She was born December 15, 1929, in Hicksville, OH, the daughter of Joas D. and Barbara (Schwartz) Schlabach. On November 4, 1948, she was united in marriage to Henry S. Bontrager. They lived in matrimony for 69 years, 11 months and 9 days. Dorothy was a member of the Old Order Amish Church.

Surviving are her husband, Henry; 11 children: Reuben (Erma Miller), Lancaster, WI; Barbara (Phineas L.) Yoder, Hillsboro, WI; Samuel (Freda Lehman), Colon, MI; David (Ella Schrock), Kidder, MO; Susan (Roman A.) Borntreger, Augusta, WI; Harvey (Gertie Nisley), MI; Levi (Cathy Yoder), Bonaparte, IA; Irene (Freeman) Yoder, Lancaster, WI; William (Rosetta Eicher) Yoder, Markesan, WI; Alvin (Annie Gingerich), Greenwood, WI; Edna (William) Schmucker, Waterloo, NY; 63 grandchildren; 127 great-grandchildren; 11 step-grandchildren; 97 step-great-grandchildren; 96 step-great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Mary Catherine (John) Schwartz, MI; 4 brothers: Melvin (Ruby Ann) Schlabach, IN; Marvin (Katherine) Schlabach, Sturgis, MI; Raymond (Verna) Schlabach, Centerville, MI; and Joseph (Jaynie) Schlabach, Colon, MI; 2 sisters-in-law, Esther Schlabach and Katie Schlabach; 2 brothers-in-law, LeRoy Bontrager and Menno Bontrager; and many nieces and nephews.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Joseph; a grandson, Joseph; 2 step-grandsons: Roman and Noah Borntreger; 3 great-grandchildren: Daniel E. Beechy, Rachel G. Bontrager, and Joseph A. Bontrager; 2 sisters: Marjorie (Mrs. LeRoy) Bontrager, and Susie Elizabeth (Mrs. Menno) Bontrager; 3 brothers: Eugene (wife, Esther) Schlabach, Laverne (the late Mary Lou) Schlabach, and Harvey (wife, Katie) Schlabach.

Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at the Henry R. Bontrager residence (8124 Narrow Cut Lane, Bloomington, WI 53802). Burial will be in the Beetown Amish Cemetery, Beetown, WI. Family and friends are welcome to call Monday, October 15, 2018 and Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at the Bontrager family home (8514 Slabtown Rd., Lancaster, WI 53813).
