Jeremy R. Gengler

February 4, 1977 — October 4, 2021

Jeremy "JR" Robert Gengler, age 44, of Fennimore passed away unexpectedly on Monday, October 4, 2021, following injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.

He was born on February 4, 1977, to Robert “Stubby” Gengler and Trudy Lenzendorf. Jeremy graduated from Lancaster High School in 1996. He attended Southwest Technical College earning a degree in Automotive Services and Autobody. Jeremy was united in marriage to Tara Kopp on December 13, 2014. He was employed at Grant County Highway Department as a welder and owned a snow plowing business in Lancaster.

Jeremy had a true gift and could fix absolutely anything. He was part mechanic, part engineer and part machinist. With a contagious smile and an unforgettable laugh, he would jump into any project, day or night, to help out family or friends.

When not working, Jeremy loved to play. Riding motorcycles, snowmobiling, UTV rides, stock car racing, slinging a little mud, and fishing with his family. He was a fun-loving guy that people were drawn to. He was the friend everyone wanted and needed.

As much as he loved racing and playing, there is nothing he cherished more in the world than his wife and beautiful children. He was a kind and playful father and husband who loved to goof around. The kids adored their time with him, in the garage or playing in the yard. He will be dearly missed.

Jeremy is survived by his wife, Tara; children: Jonathan, Kayla, Gracin, Kylie; his parents: Rob & Vicki (Russell) Gengler, Trudy Lenzendorf; siblings: Angie (Brent) Straka, Amy Gengler;
In-laws: Rick and Mary (Allen) Kopp, brother-in-law Jeremy (Becky) Kopp, sister-in-law Tanya (Ryan) Gehrke as well as three stepsisters: Dharma Doll, Korine Russell and Rayme (Don) Harbaugh and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his grandparents, Jeremy was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Jamie Kopp.

A visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday October 7, 2021, at the Martin Schwartz Funeral Home & Crematory in Lancaster. In honor of Jeremy’s love of racing and riding, we invite you to wear Harley Davidson or racing clothing to the visitation.
