Jerry J. Morrow

MOUNT HOPE – Jerry J. Morrow, age 63, of Mount Hope, passed away on Tuesday, January 8, 2019, at his home. He was born May 13, 1955, the son of Ivan and Marian (Muldoon) Morrow. Jerry graduated from Lancaster High School in 1973 and furthered his education at Fennimore Vocational Technical College with a degree in Agriculture Mechanics. On May 24, 1974, he married his high school sweetheart Rosalee A. Skaife at the Lancaster United Methodist Church. Together they farmed in Little Grant Township on the Morrow family farm with his father, Ivan, where they raised beef, hogs, and milked cows. Jerry and Rose owned and operated Southridge Trucking and Beef Farm. He enjoyed riding his Harley, fishing, camping, classic cars, and tractor pulls. Jerry dearly loved his family and spending time with his grandsons.
Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Rose; his son, Joey (Jody) Morrow; daughter, Jennifer (Dan) Cooley; grandsons: Austin, Aidan, Avery, Alec, and Axel Morrow; Archie, Will, and Sam Cooley; a brother, Jamie Morrow; two brothers-in-law: Leo (Sally), Dan (Pam) Skaife; two sisters-in-law: Chris (Dick) Perry and Penny Skaife; many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Ivan and Marian, Jerry was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Pete Skaife; father and mother-in-law: Raymond (Pearl) Skaife; a nephew, Lucas Morrow.
Funeral services will be Friday, January 11, 2019, at 11:00 a.m. at the Lancaster United Methodist Church with Reverend Mark Weaver officiating. Private family burial will be held at Little Grant Cemetery at a later date. Family and friends may call on Thursday, January 10, 2019, from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Lancaster United Methodist Church and on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at the church. In lieu of plants and flowers, a Jerry J. Morrow Memorial Fund has been established. Martin Schwartz Funeral Home & Crematory in Lancaster is serving the family.
