Maxine L. Weber

Maxine L. Weber, age 97 of Lancaster, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, January 25, 2018 at Good Samaritan Society in Fennimore. She was one of eleven children, born January 27, 1920 the daughter of Fred and Belva (Duncan) Clauer. Maxine married Frank Weber on September 28, 1939. Together they farmed in the Slabtown area for many years. When they moved to Lancaster, Maxine was employed at Orchard Manor Nursing Home. She enjoyed reading and gardening in her retirement years. Maxine dearly loved her grandchildren Jamie and Jeremy. She was a big part of their lives and had a hand in helping raise them. In 2012 Maxine moved to Fennimore and lived with her granddaughter Jamie. She became a resident at the Good Samaritan Society in 2014. Maxine loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren so much that the room would light up when they were around her.
Surviving are her sons; Gerald (Catherine) and Stanley (Jenny), her granddaughter Jamie (Shannon) Schultz, her grandson Jeremy (Ashley Beinborn) Weber, great grandchildren Shianna and Caleb Schultz, Evan, Blake and Abbigale Weber, three brothers; Jack (Margaret), Bill (Betty), and Paul (Shirley) Clauer; a sister-in-law, Darlene Clauer; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank; her siblings, Esther (Leonard) Klein, Robert Clauer, Ella (Robert) Blackbourn, Betty Clauer, Pauline Kauffman, Joyce (Robert) Kelly, and Jim Clauer.
Graveside services will be held on Thursday, February 1, 2018 at Hillside Cemetery, Lancaster. Family and friends may call on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Martin Schwartz Funeral Home & Crematory, 1234 South Madison Street, Lancaster. In lieu of plants and flowers, a Maxine Weber memorial fund has been established.
