Richard T Kleinow

MCGREGOR, IOWA – Richard T. Kleinow, age 53, of McGregor, passed away on Wednesday, January 2, 2019, at his home. He was born on February 21, 1965, in McGregor, IA, the son of Bill and Jonell (Jones) Kleinow. Richard graduated from Bloomington High School in 1983. He served his country in the United States Army from 1983 until his honorable discharge in 1990. Following his honorable discharge, Richard was employed with the barge line and later began employment with 3M, where he was currently working. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing, hunting morels, 4-Wheeler races, and target shooting. Richard also enjoyed watching NASCAR. He dearly loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his parents: Jonell Paeske and Bill (Sherlyn) Kleinow; his children: Amanda (Devin Gilbert) O'Connell; Evan Kleinow; three grandchildren: Madison and Mackenzie O'Connell and Rosyln Gilbert; his siblings: Terri Kleinow and Jason Kleinow; other relatives and many friends.
Richard was preceded in death by a son, Seth Kleinow.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 12, 2019, at 11:00 a.m. at Martin Schwartz Funeral Home & Crematory in Bloomington, 512 Canal Street, Bloomington. Burial with military honors will be in Bagley Cemetery, Bagley. Family and friends may call on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home.
