Roger E. Latham, 81, of Lancaster, passed away on Wednesday, March 14, 2018, at home after a brief illness. He was born on August 22, 1936, the son of Donald and Fern (Shaben) of Beetown. He graduated from Lancaster High School in 1950, and served his country in the United States Navy as an Aviation Ordinanceman from 1953 until his honorable discharge in 1957. On January 11, 1960 he was united in marriage to the former Karen Wienkers in Kenosha. Roger and Karen started their family there while he worked at American Motors. Roger and Karen embarked on a new journey, moving to the Lancaster area in 1973. Roger owned and operated Latham Tire Service in Lancaster from 1976 until his retirement in 2000.

Roger was well known for having a joke for nearly every occasion. We imagine him in heaven now, telling the angels and other loved ones something from his arsenal of jokes during happy hour; all while eagerly awaiting the next Packer football season so he can help them win from above.

Survivors include- his daughters: Kim (Ron) Raisbeck of Bloomington and Julie Anderson of Chandler, AZ- special grandchildren: Cody (Wendy) Kirschbaum, Ashlee Kirschbaum, and Amanda (Kyle) Kaufman- great-grandchildren: Kaysen, Hallie, Taylor, Brady, and one special great-grand baby on the way- his sister: Norma (Bob) Muldoon of Cedar Park, TX, and nieces: Lisa (Tom) Costa and Linda (Billy) Twedell.

Roger was preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife, Karen (2010) of 50 years; son, Eric (1988), and many friends and relatives.

There will be a Celebration of Life Memorial Service for Roger on Saturday, March 24, 2018, from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at the Stone Hearth Pub in Lancaster, with a private family internment. Jokes, smiles, and Packer/Badger attire are encouraged, as we celebrate Roger and the humor with which he lived. In lieu of flowers, a Roger E.
