Shirley L. Bausch

Shirley L. Bausch, age 86, of Mount Hope, passed away on Saturday, January 15, 2022, Divine Rehabilitation and Nursing in Fennimore. She was born at Wherle, WI, the daughter of LeRoy and Mabel (Vangasbeck) Ritter. Shirley married Frederick Bausch on June 28, 1952. Together they farmed near Bloomington and later near Mt. Hope; they also owned and operated Bausch Trucking for many years until retirement. Shirley especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved the outdoors and in her later years could often be seen sitting in her swing enjoying the fresh air and sunshine while watching the deer, birds, squirrels, and chipmunks.
Survivors include her six children: Patricia (Kim) Stage, Richland Center; Dorothy (Don) Gerardy, Potosi; Carol (Edward) Recker, Lancaster; Lois (Steve) Ellis, Boscobel; Bob (Jodi McGrain) Bausch, Mt. Hope; Laura (Craig) LaPoint, Mankato, MN; 11 grandchildren; 1 step-granddaughter; several great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, as well as a special family friend, Tony Eck.
In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick in 2007; her mother and father-in-law; two sisters: Doris (Robert) Grenzow and Dorothy (Norbert) Zenz; four brothers: Dale, Delbert, Donald (Anne) and Darrell (Laura) Ritter; two great-grandchildren: Breanna Munson and Caitlin Recker.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 22, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at Martin Schwartz Funeral Home & Crematory in Lancaster with Pastor Mark Hoehne officiating. Burial will be in St. Charles Catholic Cemetery, Cassville. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home. In lieu of plants and flowers, a Shirley L. Bausch Memorial Fund has been established.
