Alicia C. Rutkowski, age 77 of Mount Hope, WI, passed away Monday, April 20, 2020 at Grant Regional Health Center in Lancaster. She was born November 24, 1942 the daughter of Albert and Bernice (Friedericks) Harmeyer. Alicia graduated from Oak Creek High School, Oak Creek, WI. On June 1, 1961, Alicia was united into marriage to John E. Rutkowski at St. James Catholic Church in Franklin, WI. Together they farmed in Franklin. In 1969 Alicia and John purchased a farm in Mount Hope. They raised chickens, dairy and beef cattle. Alicia was also employed as a customer service representative at Land's End in Dodgeville for over 28 years, retiring in 2006. She was a member of St. John's Catholic Church and its Altar Society in Patch Grove. Alicia enjoyed gardening, quilting, and sewing for her family.
Surviving is her husband, John of Mount Hope; a son, Eugene "Gene" Rutkowski of McGregor, IA; a daughter, Elizabeth "Liz" (Brenden) Herrick of Mount Hope, and their daughters: Megan, Rachael and Caitlyn; and three more estranged son's and their families; her siblings: Sandy Hudy of Franklin, WI; Alan (Christine) Harmeyer of Cedar Grove, WI; Terry Harmeyer of Oak Creek, WI; and Cecile Harmeyer of Union Grove, WI; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Anthony Hudy.
Private family Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. John's Catholic Church in Patch Grove, with Fr. John Meinholz officiating. Private family burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, Patch Grove. The Martin Schwartz Funeral Home & Crematory in Bloomington is assisting the family.
