Alma E. Ready

Alma Elizabeth Ready, 100 years, three months and one day, passed away on Tuesday, November 26, 2019, at Atrium Post Acute Care of Lancaster. She was the 6th child born to Sylvia Caroline (Havill) and Albert L. Clark on August 25, 1919. Alma was baptized June 10, 1928 and confirmed June 4, 1933 at the Zion Lutheran Church in Bagley by Pastor Max Fritchell. On November 18, 1936, Alma was joined in marriage to Lynn Fred Ready by Rev. J.J. Lippoldt. To this union was born Mary Lynn, 1944, James Roger, 1947, Catherine Marie, 1956, Lynn David, 1958, and Rebecca Ruth, 1962. From 1947 until 1988, the couple farmed a 160-acre farm just outside of Bloomington. Upon their retirement, they moved into town.
The four generations to follow include the 5 children, 16 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren.
Alma was preceded in death by her husband, Lynn, and her sons, James and Lynn; four brothers: Del, Dean, Jesse, and Arthur Clark; four sisters, one in infancy, Rosa Belle Horstman, Beulah Hall, and Bernice Fuller.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 2, 2019, at 1:00 p.m. at Martin Schwartz Funeral Home & Crematory in Bloomington with Reverend Pamela Strakeljahn officiating. Burial will be in Blakes Prairie Cemetery, Bloomington Township. Family and friends may call on Monday from 11:00 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home.
