Andrew I. "Chuck" Yoose, age 71, of Lancaster, passed away on Friday, December 15, 2017, at Mercy Medical Center in Dubuque, Iowa. He was born on July 1, 1946, in Little Grant Township, the son of Ivan and June (Williams) Yoose. Chuck attended Elmdale Country School and graduated from Lancaster High School in 1964. After graduation, he farmed with his father, until his employment with Becker & Tuckwood. On August 6, 1966, Chuck was united in marriage to Janis Roesch at the First Presbyterian Church in Lancaster. In 1969, they purchased a farm in South Lancaster Township, where they currently reside. Chuck also worked for the American Feeder Pig Co-Op and purchased the Lancaster Sale Barn in 1985. He attended Reisch Auctioneer School in Mason City, Iowa, and volunteered his services annually at the Grant County Fair Livestock Auction. Chuck enjoyed horses, being on the river, Polka music, playing the accordion, wine making, and playing cards, especially poker and solitaire. He also loved spending time with his family and his precious grandchildren.
Survivors include his loving wife, Janis, Lancaster; their sons: Dave Yoose, Lancaster; Curt (Chris) Yoose, Spicer, MN; Rick (Jennie Mintz) Yoose, Los Angeles, CA; four grandchildren: Miranda, Kindra, Cade and Cailin Yoose; two brothers: Dennis Yoose and Harold Yoose, both of Potosi; other relatives and many friends.
In addition to his parents, Chuck was preceded in death by a brother, A. Curtis Yoose.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 19, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Lancaster with Pastor Mark Hoehne officiating. Burial will be in Hurricane Cemetery, South Lancaster Township. Family and friends may call on Monday, December 18, 2017, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Martin Schwartz Funeral Home & Crematory in Lancaster and on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at the church.
