LANCASTER - Brenda J. Watters, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away at her home on April 1, 2024, at the age of 63, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Her departure leaves a void in the hearts of all who knew her. Born on April 28, 1960, in Dubuque, IA, Brenda was the daughter of Donald and Dorothy (Buss) Oates. Brenda graduated from Cassville High School in 1978, where she played French horn and was secretary of the library club. She went on to work at Rayovac for 38 years. Brenda enjoyed reading, baking cookies with her grandchildren, gardening, and crosswords. In addition, Brenda had a knack for trivia and a fondness for game shows. She was an avid viewer of "Jeopardy!" and amazed her family and friends with her ability to answer nearly every question. In 1986, Brenda married the love of her life, Dennis Watters. Together, they built a life full of love, laughter, and adventure. They shared a deep bond, and their partnership was a source of strength and joy. As a mother, Brenda was nurturing and supportive, always there to offer guidance and encouragement. She cherished her children, Dominic and Cassandra, and took immense pride in their accomplishments. Brenda’s greatest joy, however, came from being a grandmother to her eleven grandchildren, whom she adored beyond measure. She will be remembered for her kindness and love. Brenda touched the lives of all who knew her and left a legacy of love and compassion.

She is survived by her loving husband, Dennis; her devoted children, Dominic (Courtney) Watters, Lancaster and Cassandra (Andrew) Noble, Lancaster; step-daughters Stacy Watters, Baraboo and Stephanie (Cary) Lawson, Lodi; her cherished grandchildren, Mille, Lincoln, Owen, Ella, Anna, Trevor, Payton, Breeanna, Trenton, Taylor, and Cayden; great-grandson, Kyson; her brothers, Tom and John (Deb) Noel; her sister: Vicki Clark  brothers-in-law Donnie (Rita) Pennekamp, Dennis Caley, Danny (Sue) Watters, Doug Watters, Dwayne (Gloria) Watters; sister-in-law Diane Brownlee; mother-in-law, Marge Watters; and a host of other family members, friends, and neighbors who will miss her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Joyce Pennekamp, Judy Noel, and Suzanne Caley; brother, Steven Noel; sister-in-law, Karen Noel; brother-in-law, George Brownlee.

In keeping with Brenda’s wishes, there will be no formal services. Brenda's life will be celebrated on April 13th from 2 pm-5 pm at Zippy's Brass Rail in Lancaster.
