Carol F. Loeffelholz

PLATTEVILLE – Carol F. Loeffelholz, age 97, of Platteville, died peacefully surrounded by family and Southwest Health Center on May 11, 2025. She was born on September 3, 1927, to Lillian (Miles) and Clifford Edge in Grant County. On June 25, 1946, she and Andrew Loeffelholz were married in Belmont, Wisconsin. They lived all their 48 years together in the Platteville area raising their six children. Carol enjoyed her work in the Platteville area including years at the Gamble Store, where she enjoyed visiting with customers as well as her years working at the Platteville Golf & Country Club and time as a VFW Auxiliary Member. She also greatly enjoyed her time serving as a lunch lady at St. Mary’s Catholic School and her time as an elementary school crossing guard. Carol was a hard worker and enjoyed being in-service to others. Some of her fondest memories were time spent with family having cookouts at the house and family trips including family road trips out west and a trip of a lifetime to Alaska in 2007 with the Loeffelholz clan.

Carol was preceded in death by her husband Andrew on December 19, 1994, as well as her parents, daughter, Norma, son, Richard (Mary Jo), her siblings as well as her grandsons, Rodney Hagen and Ryan Loeffelholz.

Surviving are her children: Mary (Joe) Hagen, James, Tim (Kristi), and Larry (Lori) Loeffelholz as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 19, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. at Martin Schwartz Funeral Home & Crematory in Platteville with Pastor Mary Ann Floerke officiating. Family and friends may visit on Monday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of her services. Per her request, her ashes will be laid to rest at Hillside Cemetery in Platteville in a private family burial. In lieu of plants and flowers, memorials in her honor can be made to Platteville VFW or Heat for Heroes.
