Charles D. Hall, age 63, of Lancaster, died on Sunday, August 10, 2008, at St. Marys Hospital in Madison. He was born on July 20, 1945, in S. Lancaster Township, the son of Doris and Mary (Marcue) Hall, Sr. He married Delores M. Purkapile on September 23, 1967 at the First Presbyterian Church in Lancaster. Charlie was employed at the mines in Tennyson and for Dillman Brothers which later became Kowalski-Kieler in Lancaster. He was a lifetime member and elder of the First Presbyterian Church. Charlie enjoyed hunting, fishing and joking around with his family. He was looking forward to becoming a great-grandfather.

Charlie is survived by his wife, Delores, Lancaster; a daughter, Lisa (Charlie) Rauch, Cassville and a son, Leonard, Lancaster; two grandchildren: Andrew (Amanda Buss) Landon, and Abbey Rauch; two sisters, Phyllis (Dale) French, Mt. Hope and Pauline (Jim) Pitzen, Lancaster; one brother, Carl (Kathy) Hall, Platteville; a sister-in-law, Robin Hall, Hazel Green; mother-in-law, Janice Purkapile, Boscobel, many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Doris Hall, Jr.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, August 14, 2008 at the Schwartz Funeral Home in Lancaster with Pastor Mark Hoehne officiating. Burial was in the Hillside Cemetery in Lancaster. Family and friends called from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 13, 2008 and from 9:30 a.m. until time of services Thursday at the funeral home.
