Clairys B. Stark

Clairys B. Stark, age 84, of Platteville, died on Thursday, January 24, 2008 at Heartland Health Care Center in Platteville. She was born on April 19, 1923 in Blanchardville, the daughter of Martin J. and Belinda (Swiggum) Einerson. She graduated from Platteville State Teachers College and taught at a rural school for one year. Clairys married August H. Gus Stark on June 5, 1945. He preceded her in death on March 8, 1963.

Clairys and Gus owned and operated Starks Caf in Platteville and the A & W Drive-In in Dodgeville for many years. She also volunteered with meals on wheels while living at the Jenor Towers. Her family was of utmost importance and she cared for her nieces and nephews as if they were her own children.

Clairys is survived by her sister, Eileen Einerson, Platteville and her brother, Dean (MaryLou) Einerson, Janesville; a sister-in-law, Mary Jo Einerson, Rockford, IL; three nieces: Carla (Clark) Buchanan, Maresan, Randee (David) Loss, Hudson and Margaret (John) Winn, Oshkosh; seven nephews: Mal Einerson, Middleton, Ron (Delores) Einerson, Neenah, Gary (Sandi) Einerson, Sun Prairie, Dean A. (Barbara) Einerson, Rhinelander, John Einerson, San Francisco, CA, Paul Einerson, Oshkosh and David Einerson, Janesville; many great-nieces and nephews; and great-great-nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gus; her parents; two brothers, Martin J. and Herbert; her sister, Joan Hirsbrunner; one sister-in-law, Rose Einerson and one brother-in-law, Oswald Hirsbrunner.

A funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 27, 2008 at the Martin Schwartz Funeral Home in Platteville with the Reverend Rom Pegram officiating. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery, Platteville. Visitation was held from 1:30 until time of services Sunday at the funeral home.
