Clarence B. Kluesner

November 20, 1938 — July 12, 2024

Bloomington

BLOOMINGTON - Clarence B. Kluesner, age 85, of Bloomington, died at Grant Regional Hospital on July 12, 2024. He was a loving and devoted son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather.

Clarence was born on November 20, 1938, on his parents’ farm in Bloomington to Lawrence and Alvina Kluesner. He was raised in Bloomington and attended high school there. He married Joan Wagner on August 20th, 1956.

He is survived by his children, Laurie (Chuck) Kessler of Onalaska, WI, Terry (Tim) Dittman of Dousman, WI, Bill (Sharon) Kluesner of Bloomington, WI, Tony (Brenda) of Bloomington, WI, and Chris Disch of Middleton, WI; ten grandchildren, Michael, Annie, and Jenny Kessler, Brett, Bart and Bo Kluesner, Brandi Weber, Justin Kluesner, Katie Taylor, and Ana Kohlmeyer; six great grandchildren, Kinsley, Hadley, and Collyns Kessler, Aubrey Kluesner, and Waylon and Caroline Weber; his brothers, Ralph (Arlene) of Darlington, WI, Kenny Kluesner of Bloomington, WI and sister in law, Jeri Kluesner. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joan; parents Lawrence and Alvina Kluesner; brothers Jim (Charlotte) Jack, and Bob (Judy) Kluesner; and sister Dorothy (Allen) Taylor.

Although Clarence was proud of his life as a farmer, he was also a reservist in the Army, and was an owner and operator of two businesses, Kluesner Dairy (where he was known by the schoolchildren as the “Dairy Fairy”) and the Kluesner Home Inspection. He was an active member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, including serving on the Parish Council, the Fall Festival Committee and being part of the choir.

Clarence loved to play cards, but was happiest surrounded by his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He will be remembered for his work ethic, optimism, quick wit, constant banter, and the life lessons he liked to share, which his family affectionately calls “Clarence..isms”. He will be greatly missed.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 am on Saturday, July 20, 2024, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Bloomington, with Father Mark Miller officiating.
