Colleen C. Spease

November 8, 1933 — June 10, 2020

Colleen C. Spease, age 86, known as “Grandma” and also “Cookie” of Lancaster, WI, passed away Wednesday, June 10, 2020 at Lancaster Health Services. She was born in Potosi, WI, on November 8, 1933 the daughter of Forrest and Martha (Marcue) Cook. Colleen married Harold “Bud” Spease on May 5, 1949. She worked at Loudspeaker Components in Lancaster for many many years. “Grandma” always seemed to be cooking something. Sundays were her baking days and many people got treats from “Cookie” when they saw her.

Colleen is survived by her children: Randy and Kim Spease, Bonnie and Johnnie Vance, Karen and Jay Erickson, and Annette Eternick; several grandchildren (and step-grandchildren), great-grandchildren (and step-great-grandchildren), and great-great-grandchildren (and step-great-great-grandchildren); sisters-in-law: Phyllis, Barb, Mary, and Kathy Cook, Shelly Peacock, Clinton Stephens, Darlyne and Glennice Spease, Hazel “Tootie” Lankamp, and Viola “Dodie” McCartney; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews; .

In addition to her parents and husband, Harold “Bud”, Colleen was preceded in death by her siblings: Merlin (Gaye), Jerry, Ronald “Cowboy”, Dariel, Lonnie, Gary, and Zandra “Zee” Cook and Doreen Stephens; and brothers-in-law: Arthur, Raymond, and Mervin “Butch” Spease, Ervin Langkamp, and Hubert McCartney. She was also preceded by two dear friends: Katie Tucker and Norma Mozolf.

Graveside services will be at 10:00 AM on Monday, June 15, 2020 at Hillside Cemetery, Lancaster with Pastor Mark Hoehne officiating. In keeping with the families wishes, masks are to be worn by all attending and everyone should practice social distancing. In lieu of plants and flowers, a Colleen C. Spease Memorial Fund has been established. The Martin Schwartz Funeral Home & Crematory in Lancaster is entrusted with her services.
