LANCASTER- Daniel J. Haas, age 63, passed away peacefully on the morning of Tuesday, March 19, 2024, at Meriter Hospital in Madison, WI. Daniel was born the son of Joseph and Sharlene (Ryan) Haas on October 19, 1960, in Dubuque, IA. Daniel loved all things Packers and Wisconsin sports in general. Prior to his stroke, he could be found playing game after game of euchre or poker, shooting the breeze with anyone and everyone, listening to and appreciating good music, drinking a Mountain Dew, and offering a friendly smile to the people around him. Dan was someone who truly enjoyed the simplest of things in life- new babies, a good laugh, a good game, a tear-jerker movie, and the parts of living that stayed uncomplicated. But even through the complicated moments, it was apparent Dan was a gentle soul who loved his family.
Daniel is survived by his children: Saedra (Jesse) Fremont of Watertown, Lydan (Aniela) Haas of Black Earth, Abigail (Cassie) Widlicka of Fennimore, Jonessa (Ryan) Ruhl of Madison, and James Haas of Benton; his sisters: Mo (Harry) Shaben and Laurie (Joe) Hoffman; his brothers: Ken Haas, Randy (Sandra) Haas, Bob (Bridget) Haas, and Larry (Penny) Haas; his grandchildren: Tucker Charles, Elijah Daniel, Grady Theodore, Justice James Gabriel, Corrinne Rose, Blaire Margaret, Garland David, and Eloise Elise; his first wife and high school sweetheart, Lisa White; his ex-wife, Dawn (Ryan) Carver; 11 nephews and 5 nieces.
Daniel was preceded in death by his parents: Joseph and Sharlene; his baby girl, Blaire Christine Haas; his niece, Jamie Lee Haas; and Lori Widlicka, the mother of his daughter Abigail.
