David J. Bausch, age 85 of Lancaster, formerly of Cassville, passed away at his home on Sunday, May 21, 2023, surrounded by his loving family.  He was born on July 5, 1937, at the home farm in Grant County, the son of Vincent “Bink” and Edith (Lindner) Bausch.  On June 24, 1958, David was united in marriage to Mary Kirschbaum at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Bloomington.  After their marriage the couple farmed the Bausch Family Farm, later becoming B & E Farms that David was a partner until 2003.  He continued to farm until his retirement in 2012.  One of David’s favorite pastimes was traveling country roads, especially Ramsey Road near the family farm.  David was an avid baseball fan, especially the New York Yankees. He also enjoyed watching the Wisconsin Badgers Cassville Comets, and Loras Duhawks.  He dearly loved watching and being involved in his grandchildren’s activities.  Dave and Mary moved to Lancaster in 2018.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, June 1, 2023, at 12:00 Noon at St. Clement Catholic Church in Lancaster with Father William Vernon officiating.  Burial will be at St. Charles Cemetery, Cassville at a later date.  Family and friends may call on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church.  Martin Schwartz Funeral Home & Crematory in Lancaster is assisting the family.
