David J. Buss

BURTON – David J. “Dave” Buss, age 70, of Burton, Wisconsin, passed away Sunday, February 4, 2024, at Lancaster Health Services in Lancaster, Wisconsin. He was born October 19, 1953, the son of Adolph and Eleanor (Salis) Buss. Dave graduated from Lancaster High School. On March 24, 1984, he was united in marriage to Diane R. Meier at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Burton, Wisconsin. Dave was employed at Seippel Brothers Log and Lumber, Dick Irish fur trading, RGF Corporation, and Flexsteel Industries. He was a member of the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Burton. Dave enjoyed hunting, fishing, horseback riding, gardening, baking, cooking, and Harley riding. He dearly loved the time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Surviving is his wife: Diane; their children: Lauri Meier, Jody (Laurie), Shane (Gina), and Cody Buss; nine grandchildren, two great grandchildren, a sister-in-law: Darlene Buss, nieces, nephews, and members of the Meier family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his siblings: Gloria (Jim) Pauley, La Dell “Buzzy” Buss, Sandy (Ted) Carn, Steve Buss, and Gary (Sheila) Buss; mother and father-in-law, William "Bill" (LaVon) Meier; brothers-in-law: Daniel “Pork” Meier and Jay Lenz; and a niece, Kelly Meier.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 10, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Martin Schwartz Funeral Home & Crematory in Lancaster, with Pastor Mark Hoehne officiating. Burial will be in the Burton Cemetery.  Celebration of Dave’s life will continue, after the burial, at Burton Town Hall. Family and friends may call on Saturday, February 10, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home. Martin Schwartz Funeral Home & Crematory in Lancaster is assisting the family.
