David G. Eckstein, age 58, of Cassville, died on  Tuesday, July 8, 2008, at his residence in Cassville. He was born on December 9, 1949 in Mineral Point, the son of George and June (Martin) Eckstein. David attended school in Cassville and also attended the  University of Wisconsin in Platteville and Madison. He was united in marriage to Linda Mastin and two children were born to this union: Jason and Jamie. In 1980, David moved to  Texas where he resided for eleven years. David was employed for a circuit board manufacturing company during his time in Texas. He later relocated to Cassville where he purchased Anker Inn Supper Club. On September 23, 1996, David married Mary Ann Bohringer. He sold the supper club in 2006. David enjoyed playing the guitar, singing, and shooting pool. He had a great sense of humor and was a loving husband, father and grandpa.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Ann Eckstein, Cassville; his two sons: Jason (Toni) Eckstein, Dubuque, IA; Jamie Eckstein, Dubuque, IA; his mother, June Eckstein, Cassville; three step-children: Christopher (Nicki) Koehler, River Falls; Amy (Fianc Clint Bean) Koehler and Diana Koehler both of Cassville; eight grandchildren; his sister, Bonnie (Gary) Kasper, Cassville; and a niece, Brandi (Todd) Thiesen, Cassville.

In addition to his father, David was preceded in death by a nephew, Jason Kasper.

Funeral services were held on  Friday, July 11, 2008, at the Martin Funeral Home in Cassville at  11:00 a.m. with Reverend Pamela Strakeljahn officiating. Burial was in  St. Charles  Cemetery, Cassville. Friends called on  Friday, July 11, 2008, from  9:00 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home.
