LANCASTER – Delores E. Oyen-Stoker, age 90, of Lancaster, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, December 5, 2023, at Orchard Manor Nursing Home in Lancaster. She was born on March 12, 1933, in Beetown, the daughter of Ernest and Emma (White) Lebben. Delores graduated from Lancaster High School in 1951. She was employed at the shoe factory during the war, making rocker arms for motors. On May 16, 1953, Delores was united in marriage to Nilus Oyen. After their marriage, the couple farmed. Delores was also employed as a cook at St. Clement Catholic School and the Lancaster High School, where she also served as a union representative and a well-loved cook for 25 plus years. Nilus preceded her in death on November 17, 2009. Delores was later united in marriage to Joe Stoker on May 25, 2015. She loved fishing, sewing, embroidering, and playing cards, especially Euchre. Delores was a member of St. Clement Catholic Church, Grant Regional Health Center Auxiliary, and the Stitch and Chat Club. She dearly loved spending time with her family and friends.
Survivors include her husband, Joe Stoker; her children: Mike (Susan) Oyen, Peggy (Bill) Bast, Dennis Oyen, Ann (Jim) Robbins, Steve (Kate) Oyen, Sue (Ed) Pulsfus, Greg (Dawn Ford) Oyen, Ellen (Jay) Winkler; 17 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; in-laws: Darlene Sabers, Cyril (Aleise) Oyen, Pete Neis, Margaret Eastlick, Betty Peacock, Ruth (Ron) Richardson, Dale (Nancy) Oyen, Marlene Oyen, Rita Oyen, and Grace Oyen; many members of the Stoker family; other relatives and many friends.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Nilus, Delores was preceded in death by a daughter, Karen; her sisters: Carol (Don) Errthum and Lavera Lebben; two grandchildren: Jason and Chelsie; two great-grandchildren: Delany and Parker; her in-laws: Gene Sabers, Doris Neis, Jerry Eastlick, Gary Peacock, LaVerne Oyen, Ronnie Oyen, Phil Oyen, Jim Oyen, Eldon (Doris) Oyen, and Harry (Rosie) Oyen.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, December 9, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Clement Catholic Church in Lancaster with Reverend Mark Miller officiating. Burial will be in St. Clement Cemetery, South Lancaster Township. Family and friends may call on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church. Martin Schwartz Funeral Home & Crematory in Lancaster is entrusted with her care.
