Dennis J. Herbers

Dennis J. Herbers, age 63, of Bloomington died Saturday, January 31, 2009 at the Prairie du Chien Memorial Hospital in Prairie du Chien. He was born on December 4, 1945 in Lancaster, the son of John and Margaret (Esser) Herbers. Dennis was united in marriage to Betty J. Kress on September 21, 1964 in Ironwood, MI. Together they farmed in the Bloomington area. He owned We Care Feeds in Patch Grove, and was employed at Golden Harvest and Kussmaul Seed Companies. Dennis was an avid sports fan and enjoyed playing softball. He was also a basketball coach and referee.

Dennis is survived by his wife, Betty, Bloomington; four children: Vicki (Bob) Hudecek, DeForest, Susan (fiance, Mike Berger) Herbers , LaCrosse, Brian (Lisa) Herbers, DeForest and Laurie (Scott) Beardslay, Wichita, KS; six grandchildren: Jacquelyn, Amanda, Daniel, Alysia, Jonathan and Hope; his mother, Marge Herbers, Bloomington; four brothers: Roger (Kayla) Herbers, Woodman, Dale (Marge) Herbers, Beaver Dam, Allen (Nancy) Herbers, Mindoro and Mark (Gwen) Herbers, Bloomington; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Funeral services were held at 12:00 noon on Wednesday, February 4, 2009 at Martin Funeral Home in Bloomington with Reverend Kurt Liebenow officiating. Burial of cremains will be held at a later date. Family and friends were welcome from 10:00 a.m. until time services Wednesday at the funeral home
