Dolores I. Burggraf, age 80, of Lancaster, died on Tuesday, September 9, 2008, at Orchard Manor Nursing Home in Lancaster. She was born on October 23, 1927, in Dubuque County, IA, the daughter of Ben and Clara (Nauman) Wagner. On October 12, 1948, Dolores was united in marriage to Arnold J. Burggraf at St. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Sherrill, IA. Together they farmed in Beetown Township. Her love of farming throughout her life kept her grounded. Dolores was an avid baseball fan and enjoyed playing cards. She was a member of St. Clement Catholic Church and the Catholic Daughters of the Americas Court St. Rita No. 670, the Beetown American Legion Auxiliary and served as a state officer.

Survivors include her nine children: Doris (Norbert) Karczewski, OFallon, MO; Stan (Barb) Burggraf, Monroe; John Burggraf, Lancaster; Charles (Carrie) Burggraf, Chesterfield, MO; Thomas (Sheila) Burrgraf, Hazel Green; Mary (Jon) Schleicher, Platteville; Margaret Burggraf, Reedsburg; James (Karen) Burggraf, Ocoee, FL; Linda Mae Burggraf, Minneapolis, MN; 21 grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two step-great grandchildren; sisters: Collette (Jim) Echter, Oceanside, CA; Virginia Schroeder, Dubuque, IA; sisters-in-law: Esther Wagner, Fennimore; Marita Sietz, Prairie du Chien; Delores (Jiggs) Hampton, Lancaster; Sally (Robert) Liebfried, Lancaster; Florence Wagner, Tawas City, MI; brother-in-law, Norbert (Dorothy) Burggraf, Cave Creek, AZ.

In addition to her parents, Dolores was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold.

Funeral services were held on Monday, September 15, 2008, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Clement Catholic Church in Lancaster with Father William Seipp officiating. Burial was in St. Charles Cemetery, Cassville. Friends called on Sunday, September 14, 2008, from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Schwartz Funeral Home with a 1:00 p.m. Catholic Daughters Rosary and from 9:30 until time of services on Monday at the church.
