 Donald G. Marshall, age 80, of Bloomington, passed away on Saturday, February 14, 2009 at Mercy Medical Center in Dubuque surrounded by his family. He was born on August 21, 1928 in Bagley Township, the son of Ralph and Mary (Myers) Marshall. Donald married Ruby Revenig on September 4, 1948 in  Dubuque, Iowa. He worked hard all his life in bricklaying and formed Tri County Masonry in  Bloomington. Donald started farming in Bagley and relocated to  Bloomington. He was a member of St. Marys Catholic Church in  Bloomington and was the President of Blakes Prairie Cemetery for many years. Donald was a loving father and grandfather. He also loved to fish, hunt and play cards.

Donald is survived by his wife, Ruby, Bloomington; five children, Carol (John) Long, Potosi, Glenn Marshall (friend, Jenny Ludwig), Bagley, Donna (Joe) Crubel, Mount Hope, Jason (Melody) Marshall, Wichita, KS and Angila (Robert) Moore, Sacramento, CA; 16 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; four sisters, Dorothy Clark, Hunnewell, MO, Betty Brennan, Dubuque, IA, Phylis Lambert, Savanna, IL and Shirley (Donald) Schueller, Dubuque, IA; many nieces and nephews other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and infant sister; three brothers-in-law, James Brennan, Fred Clark and John Lambert; aunts and uncles.

Funeral services were at 10:00 a.m. on  Tuesday, February 17, 2009 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Bloomington with Father Bart Timmerman officiating. Burial was held at Blake's Prairie Cemetery,  Bloomington Township. Family and friends were welcome from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Monday, February 16, 2009 and from 9:00 a.m. until time of services Tuesday all at the church. In lieu of flowers and plants, a Donald G. Marshall Scholarship fund has been established for the Bricklaying School at Southwest Technical School in Fennimore.
