Donald M. Adrian, age 80, of Potosi, died on Wednesday, January 28, 2009, at Southwest Health Center in Platteville. He was born on December 7, 1928, in Adrian Hollow, the son of Matt and Bessie (Wamsley) Adrian. Donald had a twin brother, Stanley "Chub" who were both born at home. They were handed through a window to due to a house fire and later taken to their grandparent's home for safety. Donald attended Cassville Catholic School and farmed with his father on the family farm. He enlisted in the United States Navy and served his country from 1946 to 1948. On April 11, 1950, Donald was united in marriage to Annabelle Adams at St. Charles Catholic Church in Cassville. After their marriage the couple farmed near Burton, where they raised three children: Dennis, Diane and Bruce. In 1970, the family purchased the John Errthum farm near Rockville, which their son, Bruce, purchased and farms with his son, Preston. In 1973, Donald purchased the John Flesch farm where they currently live with their son, Dennis, who runs the farm. Donald loved farming and was a very hard worker. He loved his family dearly, especially his grandchildren. Donald also enjoyed playing softball and playing cards. He was a member of St. Clement Catholic Church, Lancaster.

Survivors include his wife, Annabelle Adrian, Potosi; his children: Dennis Adrian, Potosi; Diane (Mark) Muldoon, Lancaster; Bruce (Carol) Adrian, Potosi; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.

In addition to his parents, Donald was preceded in death by his brother, Stanley "Chub" (Mary) Adrian in 1983, and a nephew, Steven.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, January 31, 2009, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Clement Catholic Church in Lancaster with Father William Seipp officiating. Burial with military honors was b in St. Clement Cemetery, Lancaster. Friends called on Saturday, January 31, 2009, from 9:00 a.m. until time of services at the church. Schwartz Funeral Home in Lancaster is assisting the family.
