Donna J. Cook

Donna J. Cook, age 86, of Lancaster, passed away Monday, March 25, 2024, at Grant Regional Health Center in Lancaster. She was born October 14, 1937, the daughter of Walter and Ruth (Hall) Boll. Donna graduated Lancaster High School in 1955. She was united in marriage to Donald E. “Gene” Cook on June 11, 1955, at the E & R Church in Lancaster. Donna raised a family of four children. She did some cleaning for other families once her children were grown. Donna was a dedicated member of the E & R Church, American Legion Auxiliary, and The Royal Neighbors. She helped with the local blood drives and volunteered at the thrift store. Donna enjoyed going to garage sales and to thrift stores. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

Surviving are her children: Cindy (Tom) Whyte, Cathy Burkholder, and Richard Cook; nine grandchildren, and 22 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Gene, and a son Robert.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 12, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at the E & R Church in Lancaster, with Reverend Mark Dieter officiating. The burial will be in the Hillside Cemetery, Lancaster. Family and friends may call on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church. Martin Schwartz Funeral Home & Crematory in Lancaster is assisting the family.
