LANCASTER - Evelyn J. Krogman, age 89, passed on to eternal life on June 8, 2025, at the Lancaster Health Services Center in Lancaster, Wisconsin.
Evie was born January 5, 1936, in North Andover, Wisconsin, the only daughter of Charles and Lena (Esser) Gardner. She attended the local country grade school and enjoyed being the "Princess of North Andover". Evie also enjoyed being a cheerleader and graduated from Bloomington High School in 1953.
Evie worked at the Bonn Law Firm as a legal secretary, and on June 15, 1954, she married her sweetheart Thomas H. Krogman at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Bloomington. Evie and Tom then traveled to Niagara Falls for their honeymoon. In 2024 they celebrated 70 years of marriage. Tom passed away on December 11, 2024.
In the Fall of 1954, Tom enlisted in the United States Army and was stationed in West Germany. Later in 1955, Evie and their young daughter joined Tom in Germany. They were able to tour parts of Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and Italy before returning home in 1956. Tom and Evie farmed on the Krogman family farm for many years until moving to the village of Bloomington in early 1992.
Evie was active in St. Mary's Parish and was an enthusiastic quilter who created numerous beautiful quilts for members of her family. For several years, she also assisted with local elections and the Bloomington Public Library. Tom and Evie, along with their family, had many years of recreation and enjoyment at their cabin at Jay's Landing near Bagley.
Survivors include Evie and Tom's children: Kathy (Jeff) Vorwald, Karen (Gary) Meyer, Tom (Bev) Krogman, Tim (Kathleen) Krogman and Bob (Rene) Krogman. In addition, she is survived by her brothers: Neil (Doris) Gardner and Chuck (Rita) Gardner; as well as 8 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, 29 step grandchildren/great-grandchildren; and sisters-in-law: Nelda Krogman and Dolores Gardner.
Evie was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Tom; her brother, Monroe Gardner and his wife, Wilma. She was also preceded by her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Jim and Mary Krogman, Ernie and Jean Krogman, Norma and Carl Andrews, Paul Krogman and Father Philip Krogman.
A private family funeral service for Evie, followed by a gravesite burial service for both Evie and Tom, presided by Father Mark Miller is being scheduled. Martin Schwartz Funeral Home & Crematory in Lancaster is assisting the family.
