Frederick A. "Fritz" Kaufman

Frederick A. “Fritz” Kaufman, age 76 of Potosi, WI, passed away in his home on Friday, October 18, 2019. He was born in Glen Haven, WI, on November 29, 1942, the son of Thomas and Inez (Bloom) Kaufman. After graduating from Cassville High School, Fritz went on to serve his country in the Navy for four years. He then married the love of his life, Maria A. Velarde, on December 26, 1964. Through the years, Fritz worked at John Deere and was an over the road truck driver. In his free time, he enjoyed being around his family, tractor pulling, horses, and especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Fritz is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Maria; his children: Curt (Linda) Kaufman and Marla Kaufman; six grandchildren: Michael, Bryce (Laura) and Gage Kaufman, Samantha (Derek) Raisbeck, Dakota (Shantelle) Runde, and Audrie Post; eight great-grandchildren: Zoey, Ryleigh, Kaylee, Maycie, Colton, Allie, Owen, and Reid; three brothers; five sisters; many nieces and nephews; and his dog, Bingo.

In addition to his parents, Fritz was preceded in death by a brother, Gary Kaufman; and a grandson-in-law, David Post.

A Mass of Christian Burial followed by Military Honors will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, October 21, 2019 at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Tennyson, WI, with Fr. Richard Leffler officiating. Family and friends may call on Monday, October 21, 2019 from 1:00 p.m. until time of service at the church. The Martin Schwartz Funeral Home & Crematory in Potosi is entrusted with his services.
