Geneva Helena Stark, age 86, of Cassville, died peacefully on Saturday, September 10, 2011, at Lancaster Care Center, Lancaster. Geneva was born on March 18, 1925, in Cassville Township, to Chris and Eva (Krischbaum) Meier. She was united in marriage to Orville H. Stark on May 27, 1944, at St. Charles Rectory in Cassville. He preceded her in death on October 18, 2006.

Geneva lived in Rockford, IL, all her married life. She resided at the Lancaster Care Center after the death of her husband. While living in Rockford, she worked for several years at Stone Pharmacy. For many years, Orville and Gen enjoyed their summer home on the lake at Lake Mills, WI.

Geneva is survived by sisters-in-law, Lavon Meier, Burton; Anna Marie Armstrong, Three Rivers, MI; brothers-in-law, Alfred Zittel, Alma; Mervyn (Ardith) Stark, Bagley; Charles Stark, Rockford, IL. Geneva is also survived by several nieces and nephews: Bernard Kirschbaum, Lancaster; Donna Williams, Salem, IL; Elaine Pike, Las Vegas, NV; Peggy Zittel, Scappoose, OR; Chris Zittel and Lisa Perry, both of Onalaska; Darleen Buss, Diane Buss, Douglas Meier, Dale Meier, Mark Meier, all of Potosi; Bonnie Lenz, Lancaster; Robert Meier, Rodney Meier, both of Potosi; Dawn Bernhardt, Cassville; Daniel Meier, Potosi; Lisa Churchill, Cassville; Dennis Bausch, Potosi; Jack Bausch, Cassville; and several nieces and nephews on the Stark side.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Geneva was preceded in death by one brother, William Meier; four sisters: Lillian Kirschbaum, Bernadine Zittel, Elsie Kartmann, and Leila Bausch; a niece, Dorene Lechnir; brother-in-law, Wm. Stark and sisters-in-law, Helen Ingram and Kathryn Savoldille.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, September 14, 2011, at11:00 a.m. at St. Charles Catholic Church in Cassville with Father John Meinholz officiating. Burial was in St. Charles Cemetery, Cassville. Family and friends called on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until time of services at the church. Martin Funeral Home in Cassville is assisting the family.
