Gladys Kienzle of Platteville passed away in her home on July 23. She was 91.
Gladys was raised on dairy farms in Grant and Iowa Counties. She graduated from Cobb High School as a member of the class of 1944.
Gladys loved two husbands, Joe Thompson and Clarence Kienzle. She raised five children: Linda Bottomley, Roxanne Lyght, Craig (Tina) Thompson, Tom (Karla) Thompson and Valerie (Stephen) Honshel.
She is survived by her children, their spouses; 14 grandchildren; 20 great- grandchildren; brothers, John (Shirley),and Richard (Maclean) Wendhausen and sister-in-law, Marlene Wendhausen; along with many nieces and nephews.
Gladys was preceded in death by her husbands; grandson, Jacob Thompson; son-in-law, Bernard Lyght; brothers, Bobby, Reinhart and Walter Wendhausen; sisters, Helen Cody and Carol Helms.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 27, 2019, at 11:30 a.m. at the First English Lutheran Church in Platteville with Pastor Naomi Garber officiating. Private family burial will be in Eastside Cemetery, Dodgeville. Martin Schwartz Funeral Home & Crematory in Platteville is entrusted with her care.
