Helen M. Schult, age 95, formerly of Belmont, died Monday, May 19, 2008 at Southwest Health Care Center in Platteville. She was born April 25, 1913 in Belmont, WI, the daughter of Conrad and Eda (Schuldt) Schult. Helen attended the Belmont area schools. She stayed in Belmont to help her parents and brothers on their farms. Helen later moved to Dubuque where worked at Rosheks Department Store, a laundromat, a bakery and also waitressed. She retired and moved back to Belmont and was the first resident to live in the Senior Apartments. Helen was a hard worker. She also liked to camp with family and friends, ride motorcycle, play bingo and euchre. She was also a life long member of Peace Lutheran Church in Belmont, member of the Belmont Homemakers and the AMVET of Dubuque.

Helen is survived her brother, Elmer (Anna) Schult, Mount Horeb and a sister, Vera Troester, Platteville; nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; three brothers and two sisters: Clarence (Viola) Schultz, Walter (Violet) Schult and Herbert (Ruby) Schultz; Hazel (Hugh Sr.) Boyle and Leora (Amiel) Holtz; and a brother-in-law, Gilbert Troester.

Funeral services were held on Thursday, May 22, 2008 at 11:00am at Peace Lutheran Church in Belmont with Pastor Connie Matye officiating. Burial was in the Belmont Cemetery. Visitation was held from 4:30 until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 21 at Martin Schwartz Funeral Home in Platteville and from 10:00 a.m. until time of services Thursday at the church. Memorials are preferred to Peace Lutheran Church or charity of donors choice.
