Irene M. Vesperman

Irene M. Vesperman, age 90, of Lancaster, passed away on Saturday, August 3, 2019, at Orchard Manor Nursing Home, rural Lancaster. She was born on February 19, 1929, in Stitzer, the daughter of Adolph and Edna (Gratz) Heberlein. Irene graduated from Fennimore High School. On November 10, 1947, she was united in marriage to Adolph Vesperman, Jr. at the First Presbyterian Church in Lancaster. After their marriage, the couple farmed the Vesperman Brothers Family Farm in South Lancaster Township. In 1955, Irene and Adolph moved to Lancaster. She was employed at Motter's Produce and later at the Coast to Coast Hardware Store. Irene was a devoted member of the First Presbyterian Church for 63 years. She enjoyed baking, knitting, canning, and playing cards, especially Cribbage and Euchre. Irene also enjoyed watching the Wisconsin Badgers, Milwaukee Brewers, and the Green Bay Packers.
Survivors include her children: Michael "Mick" (Diane) and Randy (Mary) Vesperman; Amy (Dennis) Davis; 7 grandchildren: Tom (Jody), Todd, Rob (Angie Smet), Patrick (Molly) Vesperman; Erin (Nate) Henriksen; Ryan, Spencer (Meagan) Davis; 12 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her husband, Adolph, Irene was preceded in death by a brother, Reuben (Florence) Heberlein.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 8, 2019, at 11:00 a.m. at Martin Schwartz Funeral Home & Crematory, 1234 S Madison, Lancaster, with Pastor Mark Hoehne officiating. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, Lancaster. Family and friends may call on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home. In lieu of plants and flowers, an Irene Vesperman Memorial Fund has been established.
