Jacqueline A. Blindert

Jacqueline “Jackie” A. Blindert, age 75, of Potosi, passed away on Thursday, January 18, 2024, at Finley UnityPoint Health in Dubuque, Iowa.  She was born on November 15, 1948, at Xavier Hospital in Dubuque, IA, the daughter of George and Clara (Kelly) Capps.  On April 8, 1967, Jackie was united in marriage to Bernard “Bernie” A. Blindert at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Tennyson.  After their marriage, the couple purchased a bar in Potosi on the Grant River.  She also worked as a physical therapy assistant.  Jackie enjoyed bowling, fishing trips with her best friends, she loved to be outdoors watching the birds and also enjoyed playing cards.   She was always available if someone was in need.  Jackie will be greatly missed by all who knew her.   

Survivors include two sons: Travis (Ruth Erickson) Blindert and Chad (Kacie Ehlen) Blindert; three grandchildren: Logan Pennekamp, Kayla Blindert, and Brenden Blindert; her siblings: Gary and Terry Capps; other relatives and many friends.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Bernie, Jackie was preceded in death by two children: Sean and Bernadette.

Private family funeral services will be held at Martin Schwartz Funeral Home & Crematory in Potosi.  Private family burial will be in St. Andrew Cemetery, Tennyson.  A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
