Janet L. Morse

LANCASTER - Janet Louise Morse, age 79, formerly of Lancaster, WI, passed away peacefully in her home in Severna Park, MD on July 2, 2023, surrounded by family. She was born on March 22, 1944, in Lancaster, WI to John and Alice (Yoose) Morehouse.

Janet was raised in Lancaster, WI and graduated from Lancaster High School in 1962. In addition to spending time with her family and grandchildren, she was an avid trivia buff and loved animals, particularly Poe, Frankie and Grace who often came to visit.  She worked for over 20 years as an Administrative Assistant at Towson University and spent several years volunteering at GBMC after retiring in 2009.  Prior to living in Severna Park, Janet lived in Dubuque, IA, Somerville, NJ, Fallston, MD, Lake Anna, VA, and Timonium, MD.

She is survived by her husband of nearly 60 years, C. Ronald Morse of Severna Park, MD; three daughters: Kimberly Morse, Kelly (Douglas) Miller, Kristi (Charles) McNeilly; one brother, Richard (Jeanie) Morehouse; and five grandchildren, Mackenzie, Regan, & Cameron Miller and Holly & Samuel McNeilly.

Janet was preceded in death by her brother, Francis Morehouse.

Graveside Services will be held on Saturday, October 7, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. at Hillside Cemetery, Lancaster with Reverend Pamela Strakeljahn officiating.  Family and friends are welcome to a luncheon to celebrate Janet at Martin Schwartz Funeral Home & Crematory in Lancaster following burial.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, act.alz.org
