Jeffery L. Stoney

Jeffery L. "Jeff" Stoney, age 66, of Potosi, passed away on Saturday, May 25, 2019, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on June 9, 1952, in Lancaster, the son of Dale and Melrose (Pauley) Stoney. Jeff attended Oakridge Country School and graduated from Cassville High School. He was united in marriage to Sandra M. Teasdale on September 11, 1971, in New Diggings. In 1983, the couple purchased the Hi-Way Café in Potosi. Jeff owned and operated the café until his retirement in 2013, when he sold the business. He enjoyed being outdoors, mowing, hunting, fishing and cutting wood. Jeff dearly loved spending time with his sons and listening to them share their musical talents. He also liked to play the guitar, shoot pool, and socialize at the Burton Tavern and McCartney Corners.
Survivors include his sons: Brandon (Laura) Stoney; Shawn (Kristy) Stoney; his mother, Melrose Stoney; five grandchildren: Samantha and Eddie Klein, Lane, Jake and Ryan Stoney; two great-grandchildren: Breckett and Taya Reynolds; his siblings: Terry (Lynn) Stoney and Sandy (Dewey) Vosberg; in-laws: Keith Teasdale; Bob Roberts; Phyllis Harwick; Karen Farrey; Mary (Jim) Bainbridge; Joe Murray.
Jeff was preceded in death by his father, Dale and his wife, Sandy in 2007; in-laws: Stella Teasdale; Muriel Roberts; Jerry Harwick; Carl Farrey; Gary (Grace) Teasdale; Barb Murray.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 29, 2019, at Martin Schwartz Funeral Home & Crematory, 144 N Main, Potosi at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor David Froemming officiating. Burial will be in the Burton Cemetery, Burton. Family and friends may call on Tuesday, May 28, 2019, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home and on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of services.
