Joanne Ducan

Joanne Anna "Sis" Duncan, age 82, of Cassville, passed away on Friday, February 10, 2017, at Prairie Maison Nursing Home in Prairie du Chien. She was born on November 3, 1934, in Cassville, the daughter of Clifford and Agnes (Brinkman) Shaben. Sis married Gerald Duncan on June 16, 1953. They raised two children, LuAnne and Tim.

Survivors include her children: LuAnne (Ken) Esser, Holmen; Tim Duncan, Bagley; grandchildren: Patrick (Lori) Esser, Eau Claire; Krystal (Christopher) Matt, Holmen; April (Joe) Delagrave, Gilbert, AZ; Jesse (Tonya Abing) Richards, Cassville; great-grandchildren: Cameron, Olivia, Barrett, Braxton, Brayden, Brynley, and Cailee; her siblings: Rose (John) Schnorrenberg; Gloria (Bob) Hudson; Leah Mae "Ahmmie" Esser; Lila (Julius "Jupe") Hochhausen; Judy (Dennis) Laufenberg; Lonnie (Helen) Shaben; sisters-in-law: Marlene Shaben and Kay Duncan; brother-in-law, Gene (Linda) Duncan; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents, Sis was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald; her brothers: John and LeRoy; her sister, Jean (Vincent) Vondrum and brother-in-law, Lester Esser.

Funeral services were on Friday, February 17, 20147, at 11:00 a.m. at Martin Schwartz Funeral Home & Crematory, 313 Fredrick, Cassville, with Pastor Mark Hoehne officiating. Burial was in St. Charles Cemetery, Cassville. Family and friends called on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home.
