Judith G. Wright

May 31, 1939 — March 4, 2021

Lancaster- Judith “Judy” Glynn (Dies) Wright, age 81, passed away Thursday March 4th , 2021 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She ended her journey on earth with us to join her Heavenly Father. She was born on May 31st, 1939 in Milwaukee, WI the daughter of Frederick E. Dies and Dorothy West Ranson. Judy enjoyed growing up in Shorewood, WI and attended Atwood Elementary School. Then she moved with her mother and Harold Ranson to Edgerton, WI and attended Edgerton High School, graduating in 1957. Her life led her to pursue an education at UW- Stout, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Home Economics and English. Judy then worked as a Home Economic Agent in Winnebago County and later taught English at Rhinelander High School. Judy married Ronald A. Wright in Shorewood, WI on April 20th, 1963 to begin an amazing journey and soon after moved to Lancaster, WI. She was a member of the Lancaster United Methodist Church. Judy was very active in Lancaster’s music and sports boosters as she avidly followed the achievements of her kids and grandkids. She loved music varieties from country gospel to organ traditional, enjoyed organizing events and was always looking to add a joke with quick wit. Judy was instrumental in establishing the Grant County Hospice Program, Lancaster Meals on Wheels Program, Par-course in Schreiner’s Park, Pre- school at the United Methodist Church, Bridge Club and Christian Women’s Club. Judy had great interest in genealogy, travel, family gatherings and all the planning and that came with it. She was a devoted Wisconsin Badger sports fan and she’d plan her days around games time. You would often find her cheering on all Wisconsin pro teams like the Packers, Brewers and Bucks. She had learned so much about many sports over the years as she watched and seemed to cheer on the underdog. The excitement of the annual girls and boys state basketball tournament would have her schedule work vacation time to watch. She was proud to be an active volunteer in the community for a multitude of groups including PEO, Bible studies, home- makers group and bridge club, where she made lifelong friends. In 1987, Judy made the courageous decision to return to college to receive her Master’s degree in Guidance Counseling. This propelled her towards employment at the Grant County Commission of Aging (now the ADRC) as the Nutritionist, where she retired in April 2001, enjoying nearly 20 years of retirement. Judy was a loving mom of four children: Carol Alynn Thole (Steve) Dellett, David Ronald (Brenda) Wright, Steven Douglas (Lisa) Wright and Laura Kristine (Rob) Gruber. She thoroughly enjoyed her time with family including her 13 grandchildren: Collin, Logan(Sarah) and Lauren Thole; Jade (Mike) Loehe, Tyler, Trevor and Hannah Wright; Rebecca and Ryan Wright; Peyton, Zachary, Alexander and Ashley Gruber who all loved her very much. Additionally, Judy has a great-grandson Trey Loehe and another on the way - Logan and Sarah Thole. She was preceded in death by her parents and step-parents Harold and Dolores Ranson and Isabelle “Izzy” Dies. Judy wanted us all to celebrate the memories of her time with us and the joy of her eternal life.
“My aim in life was to know and to do God’s Will.” - Judy Wright
