Kirsten K. Schultz

September 29, 1964 — June 25, 2023

Lancaster

Kirsten Kay Schultz, age 58, passed away peacefully and unexpectedly on June 25, 2023, of natural causes at her home. She was born on September 29, 1964, to Dorothy (Henke) and Dr. Ernest Schultz, O.D.  Kirsten graduated from Wahlert Catholic High School, Dubuque, Iowa, in 1983, and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biological Research from Loras College in Dubuque, Iowa.  She was extremely intelligent, particularly interested in medical news and world events.

Kirsten had a small, yet loyal, circle of friends and family she treasured.  She had a heart of gold and was always concerned about the welfare of those around her. She often shared stories of her past; of time spent with her parents; and her beloved dog Gypsy.  If ever a question arose about the Schultz family heritage, she knew the answer.   Kirsten’s favorite hobby was collecting stones, fossils and crystals and she, in time, became quite a geology enthusiast. She loved browsing at Bernie’s Rock Shop.

Some of the family’s fondest memories of Kirsten involved her storytelling and hearty laugh.  Her sense of humor was at times a bit risqué!  Her commitment to family whether near or far was admirable. Prior to Covid, she enjoyed going out for lunch. We cherish the times she hosted Easter gatherings that included home cooking, laughs around the dining room table and special egg hunts for the younger kids.

She is survived by her uncle, Virgil (Sharon) Schultz of Sheboygan, WI, numerous cousins, extended family, friends, and neighbors. She shared a special bond with Pam, Inessa and Ashlyn Schultz of DeForest.

Kirsten was preceded in death by her loving parents, Dorothy and Dr. Ernest Schultz O.D., both sets of grandparents and many uncles, aunts, and cousins.

The family wishes to give special thanks to Jeff Goldman for his keen understanding of Kirsten and for his thoughtfulness, care, and concern.

Graveside services and burial will be held on Thursday, September 14, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Hillside Cemetery, East Lincoln Road, Lancaster. Martin Yeager will officiate. The Martin Schwartz Funeral Home is assisting the family.
