Lois L. Wood

April 16, 1933 — February 26, 2024

Cassville

CASSVILLE - Lois Lillian Wood of Cassville, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 26, 2024, at Orchard Manor surrounded by her three daughters. She was born in Burton, WI on April 16, 1933, Easter Morning, to Gordon and Grace Laugesen. She met her husband at a dance in Rockville. They married on November 17, 1952. Dean and Lois moved to the Wood family farm, which has been in the family since 1865. Lois continued to live there after Dean’s death in 2003. She enjoyed mowing her lawn and keeping up her flower beds and did so, right up to the end. She loved to play Scrabble and had her all-time high word score with the word CHANNELS for 167 points. Lois was a true prayer warrior and loved spending time in God’s Word. She trusted Christ as her Savior while watching a Billy Graham Crusade on TV. Lois raised her children with a ton of unconditional love and much prayer. She was the most beautiful mom, grandma and great-grandma anyone could ever have and will be deeply missed.

Lois is survived by three daughters, Janet (Tim) Hess, Glen Haven; Kathy (Pete) Stohs, Cassville and Lori (Rich) Bailey, Mount Horeb; daughter-in-law Patti Wood Johll, Cassville; nine grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; and a sister Lucille Laugesen, Fort Collins, CO.

In addition to her parents, Lois was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Dean; a son, David and her brothers Willis, Loraine, Dale, Larry and Gene.

Our mom would not want her obituary to be only about her but more about the Savior she knew personally and loved. She wanted all to come to the same saving faith in Jesus Christ that she had. Know where you are going for eternity, not because of anything that you have done, or not done, but because of what Jesus Christ has done on your behalf. It is by faith alone and what Christ accomplished on the cross for you that you are saved.
“For by Grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.” Ephesian 2:8-9

As per Lois’ wishes, there will be no formal services. Martin Schwartz Funeral Home and Crematory in Lancaster is assisting the family. Memorials may be given to the Glen Haven First Responders or Cassville Rescue Squad.
