Melvin L. Levins, age 74, of Potosi, passed away on Thursday, May 20, 2021 surrounded by his family at his home. He was born March 28, 1947, in Lancaster, the son of Allen and Hazel (Jeardue) Levins. Melvin attended Poynette High School and served in the United States Marine Corp. stateside. He was employed at A.Y. Mc Donald in Dubuque, Iowa. Melvin enjoyed hunting, fishing, and watching war movies. He especially loved spending time with his wife, Deb and scratching lottery tickets.
Surviving is his wife, Deb; their children: Shannon (Mickey) Fuerstenberg, Julia (Joe) Corpora, Ricky Levins, Debbie (Jerett) Edge, Donna Levins, Melvin Levins Jr., Tommy Levins, Julia-Patty Levins, and Evelyn (Jason) Anderson; 27 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, his siblings: Shirley Kelly, Fred Levins, Tony Levins, Julie Bottoms, and Donna (Duane) King; a brother-in-law, David Ambrosy, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Betty, two sons: Michael and Clarence, a sister, Crystal Ambrosy, and a brother-in-law, Robert Kelly.
Graveside services with military honors will be held on Monday, May 24, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Hillside Cemetery in Poynette, Wisconsin. Family and Friends may call on Sunday May 23, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Martin Schwartz Funeral Home & Crematory in Lancaster.
