Millavieve M. "Millie" Curtis

October 28, 1931 — October 16, 2021

Millavieve M. “Millie” (Brandt) Curtis passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 16, 2021, at the age of 89 in the care of her second family at Sienna Crest in Platteville. Millie was born October 28, 1931, daughter of Glenn and Mary (Hentrich) Brandt. She attended Immaculate Conception Catholic School in Kieler, WI. Millie and Gerald "Jerry" were united in marriage on August 12, 1953, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Kieler, and were married for 67 years. Millie loved her husband, Jerry, and family was a very important part of her life. She loved to have the family at grandma’s house as much as she could, and they loved it too. Millie and Jerry farmed for fifteen years. They also ran a lunch wagon for farm auctions and the Hilltop Restaurant. Millie enjoyed working as a waitress for local restaurants and Home Care Select when often she was the same age or older than them. She enjoyed playing cards, bingo, sewing and quilting. Millie made many memorable quilts for her family, as well as making barbie doll clothes for the girls. She was a member of the SS. Andrew-Thomas parish where she often led the rosary, was a gift bearer and a Eucharistic minister for many years. Millie was a very kind and caring person and gave of herself to anyone in need. She loved spending time with her family and friends and will be dearly missed.
Millie and Jerry were blessed with their children: Mary (Tom) Droessler, Susan (Paul) Rojemann, Larry (Jackie) Curtis all from Potosi, WI, Linda (Vernon) Bennett, Spring Valley, MN, Kevin (Lou Ann) Curtis, Hazel Green, WI; 15 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; three brothers-in-law: Jackie Droessler, Donnie Lange, and Glen (Midge) Curtis; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Glenn and Mary; her husband, Jerry; a granddaughter, Angel Rojemann in infancy; a brother, Harvey (Audrey) Brandt; six sisters-in-law: Marie, Gloria, Betty (Wilbert) Curtis, Eula and Pauline Droessler, and Irma Lange, and a brother-in-law, Floyd Curtis.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, October 19, 2021, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Tennyson with Father Richard Leffler officiating.
