Nancy C. Haberkorn, age 64, of Lancaster, passed away on Monday, December 1, 2008, at UW Hospital in Madison, following a brief illness, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on January 2, 1944, in Dubuque, IA, the daughter of William and Bernetta (McDermott) Munger. Nancy was employed with Ray-O-Vac, Gasser True Value Hardware and the Loudspeaker Component Corporation throughout the years. Nancy loved her family and their activities and will be dearly missed. She enjoyed her pets, gardening, and watching the Green Bay Packers and Brett Farve. Nancy especially enjoyed her trip to visit her brother, Mike, in Seattle, Washington.

Survivors include her best friend and caregiver, Mary Toby Stoker, Lancaster; her children: Karen (Dennis) Potter, Lancaster; Lisa (Rich) McNett, Platteville; Steve (fianc Pam Buss) Haberkorn, Cassville; Cindy Haberkorn, Lancaster; Bob (Connie) Haberkorn, Potosi; her brother: Mike (Mary) Munger, Eatonville, WA; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a god-daughter, Tonya (Matt) Mish, Bloomington; nieces and nephews; a dear friend, Norbert (Karen) Stoker, Platteville and former husband, Albert Haberkorn, FL.

In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by a son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Judy Haberkorn, two infant grandchildren, and a dear friend, Leona Stoker.

Funeral services were held on Friday, December 5, 2008, at 8:00 p.m. at Schwartz Funeral Home in Lancaster. Burial will be at a later date. Friends called on Friday, December 5, 2008, from 3:00 p.m. until time of services at Schwartz Funeral Home. A Nancy C. Haberkorn memorial fund has been established.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Diane from Home Care Select and all the other doctors and nurses who cared for Nancy in the last few months.
