Nancy D. Krantz

October 7, 1964 — June 19, 2019

LANCASTER - Nancy Krantz, age 54, died June 19, 2019 after giving cancer a run for its money. Nancy was born October 7, 1964 in Monroe, WI to Bernie and Carol (Cook) Dressler. She moved to Lancaster in 1979 where she met her future husband, Roger Krantz. Nancy and Roger were united in marriage September 23, 1983 in Lancaster.

Those who know Nancy best would tell you she loved to color the world purple every chance she could, boogie to Elvis Presley or Johnny Cash tunes, and give people a hard time. Nancy would regularly joke that when she died, Heaven didn’t want her and Hell was afraid she would take over, but we all know her bark was far worse than her bite. The F-bomb may have been one of her favorite words, but she had an amazing ability to turn the sass off the moment her grandkids entered the room. We’re pretty sure she loved her grandkids (and great grand-daughter) more than her own kids, which we shared with her while writing this and she quickly affirmed was true. When with her favorite kids, you would often see her sharing fruit snacks, swaying as she held them while patting their backs, or teaching them to say that grandpa is a crazy driver. Nancy also enjoyed cross-stitching, lilacs, and she LOVED her jewelry (which doubled as brass knuckles).

Nancy is survived by her husband Roger Krantz; children, Peggy (Jason) Otte, Joseph (Ashley) Krantz, and Mindy (Brad) Johnson; grandchildren, Trey Dressler, Jordan Dressler, Skylar Otte, Reece Krantz, Logan Krantz, Camden Krantz, Brystol Johnson, Aurora Johnson, and Sawyer Johnson; great granddaughter, Elliana Dressler; father, Bernie (Theresa) Dressler; mother, Carol (Ron) Loomis; four sisters, Joanna Dressler, Karen (Gary) Pluemer, Michelle (Jim) Andrews, and Jennifer Pink; mother-in-law, Lois Krantz; and many nieces and nephews.

Nancy is preceded in death by her first true love, Elvis Presley; paternal grandparents, Joseph Dressler & Mamie Marshall; maternal grandparents, Larry & Peggy Cook; several aunts, uncles, and cousins; brother-in-law and niece, Gary & Sandra Krantz; sister-in-law, Joan Krantz; and father-in-law, Vernon Krantz.

A visitation with family will be held Monday, June 24, 2019 from 4 to 7 pm at the Fennimore United Methodist Church and again Tuesday, June 25, 2019 from 9 to 11 am. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, June25, 2019 at 11 a.m. at the Fennimore United Methodist Church followed by a luncheon with the family. Unless your name is Johnny Cash, please wear purple (not black) to the visitation and service in Nancy’s honor. Martin Schwartz Funeral Home & Crematory in Lancaster is entrusted with her care.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Nancy’s honor to the Grant County Cancer Coalition or Agrace HospiceCare (who provided TREMENDOUS support to Nancy and her family during this difficult time). Checks can be made out to the Grant County Cancer Coalition or Agrace Foundation and given to the family.
