Retha O. Bausch, age 87, formerly of Cassville, died Friday, February 20, 2009 at Luther Manor in Dubuque, Iowa. She was born May 2, 1921, the daughter of Charles and Gertrude (Dresen) Lau in Cassville. Retha graduated from Cassville High School. She was united in marriage to Clarence Kais Bausch on November 13, 1945 in Cassville. Retha worked for the Dennison House, Bakery and Stonefield Village all in Cassville. She enjoyed playing cards and sharing time with friends from many different avenues of her life.

Retha is survived by her son, Doug (Susan) Bausch, Dubuque, IA; daughter-in-law, Barb Bausch, Madison; two grandsons, Eric (Ashley) Bausch, Medina, TN and Corey Bausch (Courtney Golightly), Iowa City, IA; six great-grandchildren, Kailey, Moses, Eden, Isaiah, Josiah and Hanna (to be born on March, 2009); one brother, Fred (Margaret) Lau, LaCrosse; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clarence; her son, Morrie; her grandson, Tom; her brothers and sisters, Bud Lau, Addie Lau, Vincent Lau, Chris Lau, Herb Lau, Lucille Lau, Ivan Lau and Carl Lau.

Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 26, 2009 at St. Charles Catholic Church with Father John Norder officiating. Burial was in the St. Charles Cemetery, Cassville Township. Family and friends were welcome from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 25, 2009 at Martin Funeral Home in Cassville and from 10:00 a.m. until time of services Thursday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like memorials to the American Cancer Society. They would also like to extend a special thank you to Kathy Pitz with Hospice of Dubuque.
