Richard E. "Rick" Sedbrook

December 30, 1957 — May 25, 2025

Potosi

Richard “Rick” E. Sedbrook, age 67, of Potosi Wisconsin, died on Sunday May 25, 2025, surrounded by his family. He was born on December 30, 1957, the son of Edmund and Avanelle (Place) Sedbrook. In 1979, Rick married his high school sweetheart, Nancy Munson.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy; their children, Amy (Andrew) Pennekamp and Steven “Bud” (Katlin) Sedbrook; and five cherished grandchildren: Anna & Lauryn Pennekamp, and Kloe, Avanelle, & Emerson Sedbrook. He is also survived by his sisters: Judi (John) Meir, Sharon Pagel, Karen Hall, Linda (Daniel) Wiest, Marsha (Jerry) Gerber, and Susan (Robert) Meier; sister-in-law, Laurie Sedbrook; brothers-in-law, John Munson and Paul Krantz; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his parents-in-law, Douglas & Carol Munson; his sisters: Beverly Geisler, Diana Sedbrook, and Joan Krantz; his brother Randall Sedbrook; his brothers-in-law: Gary Pagel and Edward Hall; and nephews: Matthew Krantz and Jeremy Wiest.

Rick graduated from Potosi High School in 1976. He began his career at Schurman’s Cheese Factory, later working for Foremost Farms (formally Wisconsin Dairies), from which he retired in 2012.

A passionate outdoorsman, Rick shared his love for deer hunting, especially rifle and muzzleloader seasons, with friends and family. His knowledge, dedication, and post-hunt shenanigans created lasting memories.

In his free time, Rick enjoyed farming, helping his sisters, and maintaining vehicles and tractors. He enjoyed antique tractor pulls featuring his John Deere 720 with various drivers including his son. Additionally, Rick took great pride in restoring and painting antique tractors.

Rick lived a life rooted in family, hard work, and a deep appreciation for the outdoors. Whether in the woods, the fields, or his workshop, he brought enthusiasm, skill, and a big heart to all he did. His legacy lives on in the stories shared, the tractors he restored, and the family he loved deeply.
