Robert E. "Popeye" Cook

Robert Eugene “Popeye” Cook, age 58, of Lancaster, WI, passed away Wednesday, August 14, 2019 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison. He was born the son of Donald “Gene” and Donna (Boll) Cook in Lancaster on January 30, 1961. Popeye attended Lancaster High School and went on to work as a painter, spending 30 years in Seattle, WA. He enjoyed playing cards, had a ton of friends and was known for his wonderful sense of humor.

Popeye is survived by his mother, Donna; siblings: Cindy (Tom) Whyte, Kate Burkholder, and Rick Cook; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Donald “Gene”.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 17, 2019 at the Martin Schwartz Funeral Home and Crematory in Lancaster with Reverend Mark Dieter officiating. Burial will be at a later date in the Hillside Cemetery, Lancaster. Family and friends may call on Saturday, August 17, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. In lieu of plants and flowers, a Robert E. “Popeye” Cook Memorial Fund has been established. The Martin Schwartz Funeral Home & Crematory of Lancaster is entrusted with his services.
