Roger W. Ludwig

Roger W. Ludwig, age 64, passed away on Monday, February 4, 2008 at Orchard Manor Nursing Home, rural Lancaster. He was born on December 16, 1943 in Cook County, IL; the son of William and Theresa (Reynolds) Ludwig. Roger graduated from Barrington, IL High School and attended the University of Illinois. He served in the United States Marine Corps Reserves. Roger moved to Lancaster in 1976. Roger was a member of St. Clement Catholic Church in Lancaster. He enjoyed doing artwork, hunting, fishing, and golfing. Roger loved spending time at the Lancaster Country Club and was well-known there.

He is survived by his mother, Theresa Ludwig, Tucson, AZ; his aunt, Catherine Reynolds Leibfried, Lancaster; and five cousins: Helen (Donovan) Krohn, Verona; Robert (Sally) Leibfried, Lancaster; Joan (Leonard) Stich, Morrisville, PA; Katie (Laker Schildgen) Schindler, Lancaster; and Mary (Rodger) Janssen, Lancaster.

Roger was preceded in death by his father, William, his uncle, Walter Leibfried, and his cousin, Tom Leibfried.

Funeral services were held on Thursday, February 7, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Clement Church in Lancaster with Father William Seipp officiating. Burial was in St. Clement Cemetery, Lancaster. Visitation was held on Thursday, February 7, 2008 from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at the church. In lieu of plants and flowers, memorials may be given to Schreiner Memorial Library in Lancaster.
